Interior Designer/Architect

TSP has an exciting opportunity for an Interior Designer who is energetic, highly creative, and technically skilled. In this full time role, you'll need to demonstrate innovative thought, foresight, and mature judgement to determine program objectives/requirements and organize projects.

You will help design customized solutions that develop or reimagine spaces where people connect, interact, and experience life. You can expect to contribute meaningfully to projects across the range of our key markets of Health/Wellness, Education, and Community projects.

You will be supported by a multidisciplinary group of talented colleagues in architecture, engineering, project management, and cost estimating. You will have a wide range of leading-edge BIM software in your toolkit as you work with colleagues to develop floor plans, renderings, and 3-D model that help your clients visualize spaces before they're built. TSP invests heavily in virtual communication, collaboration, and design software to assure that team members, clients, consultants, and construction partners can work together seamlessly.

Job Responsibilities may include:

  • Facilitating and develop programming and space requirement templates
  • Navigating and incorporating life-safety requirements through the space planning process
  • Contributing to the development of preliminary design concepts rough drawings and conceptual renderings.
  • Investigating design options through an iterative design process
  • Assembling a construction drawing set
  • Developing technical specifications for interior assemblies and finishes
  • Designing, documenting, and detailing building systems such as (but not limited to):
    • Partition construction
    • Casework
    • Interior doors and doors frames, including door hardware
    • Stairs and railings
    • Interior woodwork
    • Flooring, ceilings, and other finishes
    • Toilet room accessories
    • Building signage
  • Simultaneously managing multiple project deadlines in a fast-paced industry
  • Participating in the interview and proposal process to secure new business
  • Working both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team atmosphere with team members in different offices.
  • Engaging with consultants, contractors, and reps to meet overall project goals, schedules and budgets
  • Selecting finishes and assisting in light fixture selections
  • Developing FF&E packages and writing furniture specifications
  • Learning new things

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Proficient in Revit, Sketchup, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new things
